Kabana Grain Millers (U) Ltd. recognises the importance of its role as a manufacturer of fortified milled maize products, Corn grit and Bran, in ensuring food safety and is therefore committed to applying safe food practices and ultimate customer satisfaction.

Kabana Grain Millers (U) Ltd. ensure the purchase and acceptance of safe raw materials and commits that the products manufactured and distributed by it are safe for public consumption.

Our Commitment

All fortified maize products, Corn Grit and Bran are safe for consumption
All manufacturing and delivery activities are conducted in accordance with best practice methods in order to provide confidence to the end-users of the safety of the food products
The Company conducts its activities in compliance with applicable local, and international laws and regulations governing the food industry
All food handlers carry out their work in accordance with established food safety standards of performance
Food handlers receive instruction, information, supervision and training in food safety
The Food Safety team, supported by top management shall continually monitor the implementation of the Food Safety Policy, objectives and management system, supporting improvement actions where necessary
Top management and external third party regulatory bodies reserve the right to conduct inspections of the premises where food is prepared and packaged

Fundamental to this belief is the responsibility to ensure the food safety of all products that the company manufactures. The company is committed to continually enhance the reputation of the brands it produces and maintain consumer confidence in its products through the development and implementation of quality and safety systems, standards and practices.

Kabana Grain Millers (U) Ltdis committed to continuous improvement, which is measured, evaluated and validated for effectiveness internally and externally. The company believes that the responsibility for achieving quality commitments lies in each employee in the execution of their duties and their responsibility with the stakeholders. Food safety is the responsibility of all employees that have direct influence on the raw material (Maize grains), manufacturing, packaging, storage and the transport of the product.

The following food safety and quality principles are the foundation of the company commitment to quality;

Manufacture and deliver fortified maize products that meet the highest safety and quality standards.
Meet or exceed all statutory and regulatory requirements for quality and food safety
Ensure sustainable food safety and quality performance through implementation and certification of effective quality management systems and product quality standard (US EAS 768:2019) in all operations.
Include food safety and quality strategies in the annual business planning process to ensure that food safety and quality remains an integral part of operations.
Ensure that suppliers and contractors embrace the same food safety and high commitments, and monitor the materials and services they supply through audits and incoming goods inspection.
Build food safety and quality capability through structured programs that train and develop technical skills, increase awareness, manage risks and drive increasing levels of excellence
Set annual measurable food safety and quality objectives for all operations, and at group level, to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with all standards.
Communicate food safety aspects and requirements to suppliers, contractors, customers and consumers by establishing specifications for raw materials and packaging materials, product storage and consumer guidelines

This policy covers security at the business’ headquarters, away from the company and on the client’s site to the extent possible.
